I just got back from an alumni reunion with CTAS folks in Atlantic City. Now I moved into my (tiny) sublet in NYC for the rest of the summer. So, now I can work again. I'll go in and start registering people, cleaning up all the old posts, and fixing the favorite links code (doesn't list 10 random favorite links... it lists them all right now)

Hey, so when is this launching because I didn't see it today?

I'm thinking (a) June 1 too soon. Angie and I did a redesign last night though, so now we just have to make it happen (code and images).

(b) Your bday is NOT in May.

(c) We should definitely do photos, but low-res & re-size them. Can you code that?

Let's make it happen! I will actually be traveling and at an alumni gathering June 1-3, but I will work hard on cleaning this thing up on Wed and Thurs before I leave, and send out the initial email for launch on June 1, and come back to fix bugs/problems on June 3rd.

I have a week off before my work starts on June 11, so I'm gonna spend that time on all of my projects and things, including this.

Do a sketch for a redesign!! You and I can figure out the best AND prettiest way to make this site look.

Yes, main purpose is to get everyone to keep in touch. Engaged with each other, even in our own separate "grown up" lives.

photos are a great idea. i think that's a big part of facebook, so that'll be an attractive feature for our friends. not sure about old photos only, but i think if we had the ability/bandwidth to allow people to upload a certain amount of photos, and stream them or something...

honestly i don't know what i can really offer you. i personally would change the navigation menu around, but i don't know how to do that and i don't know what we want "featured".

what is the main purpose of this site? as a connection for all of us? what' would the poll function be used for?

I thought we had "superficial" HTML, like bold, italics, underline, colors, and links? (Honestly, that should be all we need...)

i'm in finals until next monday, but after that, i'll have free time to work on this again. since we're supposed to be prepping this thing for launch in about 2 weeks, let's really focus on the things that are ESSENTIAL to this happening. stuff like the quest photo thing that i just made are fluff (i just realized) and we should really focus on making this thing usable first... features second. that said, calendar/to-do is also ancillary.

- poll function
- HTML in blog posts (currently disabled)

anything else? let's get it to a point where we can say "ok, let's go" and email all of our friends about it. by the end of may, as we promised ourselves.

not quite done yet, but single photo uploading works. the idea is to upload "old" pictures of our group (from high school, middle school)

I'm not sure where it was posted/advertised... or maybe it was randomly crawled on and since our pm.net inboxes don't have ANY sort of spam protection built into them, it got hit that frequently?

Yeah, ditto. How was it getting spam? Where did we put it??

BTW, I had to shut down the design@pm.net email address. It was bouncing too much spam to my gmail account (and my gmail account didn't know how to filter it because the email "from" address was design@pm.net)

I think I fixed the remember_me problem... was a typo in the index.php page. I never noticed the error because my own blog uses a similar cookie that was providing the value for this blog, too (on accident, of course)
